Sumit Ghildiyal is an industry veteran and seasoned Business Development expert with over 25+ years of experience in Operations and Retail Business Development, he has been heading Business Development at National Level at Landmark Group for MAX and Easy Buy division.
Landmark Group in India operates more than 800+ stores, spread over 5.0 million square feet of retail space, and patronaged by 100s of million customers. The Group Formats have been consistently bagged many coveted retail brand awards.
Sumit is an alumnus of IMT Ghaziabad and holds an Executive Certification in Business Management. Throughout his business development career, he successfully held senior positions in different retail formats of F&B (Hospitality), Fashion Retail and Telecom.
Sumit brings a wealth of expert in real estate development, business strategy for market expansion, franchisee development, operations management, service delivery excellence, effective negotiations, building scalable and sustainable processes, catchment analysis, and statutory compliance. With his expertise he has been mentoring teams to achieve organisational goals. He sets a standard for articulating business understanding and strong execution.
At Landmark Group, his business strategy for market expansion across the country and penetration into tier 2 and tier 3 cities delivering impactful results witnessing the growth from 205 to 495+ stores across 210 cities. Before Landmark Group, Sumit was associated with Jubilant Foodworks for a period of 12 years and was an invaluable instrument in shaping the roadmap for positioning of Domino’s Pizza from 100 outlets to 1100 outlets across 200+ cities in India along with formatting and conceptualizing business development process and SOPs for the organization. Prior to this, he also contributed his expertise with Vodafone (Hutch), Subway and Café Coffee Day.
Sumit has featured among top 30 Business Development Heads modelling the retail landscape at Images Retail Edition of March 2023.
As a business leader, he believes one should have ‘Founder’s Mentality’ in our approach towards business as the retail norms are ever changing. Sumit has always been people person and strongly believes “People come first, and they are not a Commodity”.
